We need to see all of the following documentation at the time of hire:

  • Driving licence

    A current full driving licence must be produced by all hirers at the commencement of each and every hire. If you only have the paper licence then we require to see your passport as photo ID.
  • Two forms of identification

    These must be recent utility bills, bank or building society statements. A passport is not acceptable as it does not contain your address.
  • Proof of Signature

    Ie. Debit or Credit Card.
  • National Insurance Number

    This must be provided to allow us to do the relevant checks on your license.

FAQs

A deposit of £100.00 for Cars/Vans & £150 for minibuses will be required to secure your booking.

The Hirer is fully covered on insurance.

Payment of the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your excess contribution in the event of a motor accident.

In most cases your excess will be reduced from £1000 down to £195.
Drivers Under 25 – Excess will be reduced from £1250 to £450..

Overhead damage, damage to tyres, windscreens, wheel trims and upholstery
are not covered by the damage waiver, the hirer being liable for the full cost of repair.

In the case of negligent driving, damage will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and the hirer may be liable for the full cost of repair.

Minibuses are NOT insured for Hire & Reward.

We accept payment by cash, debit or credit card.

Please note: We do not accept American Express.

Our daily hires are from 8.30 am to 8.00 am the following day.
We offer short term 4 hour hires which are generally morning or afternoon and also evening/overnight hires.

Where possible, rental times can be adjusted to suit the individual hirers requirements subject to availability.

If you wish to extend your hire, arrangements must be made prior to expiry of the current agreement and an additional payment made to enable the insurance cover to be extended.

We will always do our best to help you keep the van you have but may have to ask you to return it and offer you a different vehicle.

If a vehicle is returned late then an additional hire charge will be applied.


We do require advanced warning if a vehicle is to be late as 99% of times there will be a hirer waiting for it.

Additional drivers can be added but would have to provide all the same documentation as the primary driver.

There is a small daily charge for additional drivers.

Below is a list of the free mileage allowance for all Cars, Vans & Minibuses

4 hour 100 miles
Overnight 100 miles
1 Day 200 miles
2 Days 400 miles
3 Days 600 miles
4 Days 800 miles
5 Days 900 miles
6 Days 1000 miles
7 Days 1200 miles

If the mileage allowance is exceeded, see charges below for each mile over the allocated allowance.

Cars & Vans – 15p plus VAT per mile
Minibuses – 20p plus VAT per mile

You must be between the ages of 21 – 75 years for cars & vans. 30 – 70 years for 9 to 17 Seat Minibuses, a regular driver and in good health.

Age restrictions apply as follows.

Hirers aged between 21 to 25 must have held a driving licence for 2 years and have no endorsements, a young driver surcharge will apply, and the damage excess amount will be higher. 

Aged 30- 70 : Must have held license for minimum of 7 years and have a maximum of 3 points.

You can return your van to our main depot by parking on the street outside and posting the keys through our security drop box.

All our vehicles come with breakdown cover. In the unlikely situation you need this assistance you will find details on your rental agreement in red writing and / or on the card inside the cab attached to the windscreen.

Breakdown cover is included in the cost of the hire, however if the cause of breakdown is deemed driver negligible or due to driver error, then it may not be covered and can be chargeable. These include but are not limited to

Flat battery due to driver error
Tyre changes
Incorrect fuel
Out of fuel
Tyre puncture (subject to puncture)
Lost or broken keys
Locked out of vehicle.

We require 48 hour’s notice for any cancellation, or you will lose your hire charge.

We will always attempt to re-hire your vehicle or offer you an alternative date.

The Hirer is responsible for checking water, oil levels and tyre pressures daily, after the first 24 hour hire period as all vehicles have had their daily checks prior to collection.

Our rental staff will note on the pre-rental check form and rental agreement, the reading of the fuel gauge.

You are requested to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as you commenced the rental.

A re-fuelling charge will be made if it is necessary to bring the level of fuel up to where it was when you took the vehicle.

Unfortunately, we CAN NOT hire to courier drivers unless you can provide your own Fully Comprehensive Insurance.

You may drive our vehicles using your own company’s fleet insurance cover, provided we have approved this in advance.

In this event, only the restrictions of your own insurance will apply.

It may be worth noting that you will attract cheaper rates when providing your own insurance. Ask our rental staff for details.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate one-way hires.

All vehicles must be returned to our main office on Perrie Street, Dundee, DD2 2RD.

With prior approval it is possible that our vehicles may be taken outside mainland UK although there are restrictions regarding taking them into some countries.

A surcharge will apply when taking a vehicle outside mainland UK and extra charges for breakdown cover/insurance will be made.

The hirer is required to apply for the VE 103 form online and provide a copy to us before departure.

You are permitted to have your pets in your hire vehicle provided they are always within a carrier.

If the vehicle requires cleaning of pet hair or odour, then you will be charged for a valeting fee at the branch’s discretion.

(Minimum charge £25.00 plus VAT)
